Meet Bertie, our school well-being dog

CELEBRATING BERTIE’S 1ST YEAR AT WHA

"Just like the Year F Class, I have completed my first year at Windmill Hill Academy. I have also grown much taller like they have.

I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know you all and I am so proud of what the children have all achieved this year.

I am going to miss of the Year 6s as they give me wonderful strokes and cuddles each day. I also like to walk around their classroom occasionally and sniff out Miss Young's lunch. Their Leavers' assembly sounded great and I enjoyed watching snippets of the rehearsals. I hope you will all come back to visit me soon.

I hope you are having a wonderful summer holiday. I am enjoying lots of long dog walks and swims. I even managed to walk up Snowdon in North Wales!

I look forward to seeing you all in September and meeting our new families. I will be the one in the playground with a big waggy tail!”

From your loyal friend, Bertie

Here are some highlights from his 1st year. He is now certainly part of the WHA team!
Bertie's Kennel Club Name

I have just received through Bertie's registered Kennel Club name. We chose 'Gan Gwella Koweth' which is Cornish for 'Our Best Friend'. He is everyone's friend in our school community so we thought it was a perfect choice!
